R&D: a vital pillar for growth
R&D leverages the expertise of ETT's four other engineering departments (Projects, HVAC, Regulation, Execution & Methods) to anticipate technical and regulatory changes. Some technological advancements result in patent filings. Its objective is to enhance our industrial air treatment solutions—air conditioning, ventilation, and heating—while meeting the specific requirements of our clients.
The ETT R&D department consists of four competency areas comprised of 14 engineers and technicians.

Development of R&D Projects
This area focuses on:
Developing standard product ranges and catalogs: Designing innovative solutions that meet the diverse needs of the HVAC market while ensuring their standardization for optimized production and large-scale distribution.
Structuring the organization by product type and market: Adapting our offerings according to market segments and the specificities of each product, allowing for a targeted approach and a more precise response to our clients' expectations.
Managing the lifecycle of products: Ensuring continuous monitoring of existing product lines by adapting them to new standards, optimizing performance, and integrating feedback to ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of our solutions in the long run.

Innovation and Modeling
The missions of this area include:
Qualifying new products and functions: This service plays a key role in ETT's responsiveness and flexibility by testing and validating new technical solutions. This enables rapid market introduction of innovations while ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and durability standards.
Modeling our technical solutions: ETT strives to enhance the precision and efficiency of its developments by using advanced modeling tools, such as Toolbox WEB and other simulation software. These tools allow for the simulation, optimization, and evaluation of system performance before production, thereby reducing risks and accelerating the deployment of new technologies.

Climate Chamber and Lessons Learned
This area is tasked with:
Planning and conducting tests within the ETT climate chamber for specific machines and R&D prototypes: Organizing and executing the necessary tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of specific machines and prototypes developed in research and development. This step is crucial for validating innovations and ensuring their alignment with technical requirements.
Providing technical support to the company’s services: Offering technical expertise to various support services such as ETT Services, commissioning technicians, the QSE department, the Projects Engineering Office, and the HVAC Engineering Office. R&D assists these teams in resolving complex technical issues and optimizing processes, ensuring a seamless integration of new solutions within the organization.

Regulations
The regulatory role of R&D is a fundamental aspect of a company’s strategy, ensuring not only compliance with current standards but also the ability to anticipate and adapt to future developments.
At ETT, this role is manifested through:
Legislative monitoring: Maintaining constant oversight of the evolution of relevant legislative and regulatory texts pertaining to our sector.
Competitive monitoring: Conducting continuous market analysis and competitor activity assessments to identify emerging trends, innovations, and practices.
Participation in conferences, unions, and working groups: Actively engaging in industry conferences and working groups. This involvement allows ETT to stay informed about the latest trends and innovations, share knowledge, and influence discussions on future regulations and industry standards.
Management of DESP files (European Directive on Pressure Equipment): Administering and following up on files related to the European Directive on Pressure Equipment to ensure that all equipment meets the required safety and performance standards.
Compliance with and anticipation of standards: Ensuring strict adherence to and application of current industrial standards.
